3 Interesting Uses of 3D Rendering

By | Blog | No Comments

3D rendering is a procedure that can be best explained as “taking a photograph” of a 3D model that’s already designed on a computer.

This photograph or render is then shown to clients to help them get a better idea of what the final product will look like.

The use of 3D rendering has taken many industries by storm. It has found usage in architecture, engineering, cinema, and gaming, just to name a few.

Of course, these aren’t all the industries where 3D rendering has made a splash. Some of the more unexpected fields where 3D rendering is blossoming are as follows:

Fashion:

The fashion industry uses 3D rendering to help customers find clothes that suit them.  In essence, stores use 3D rendering techniques to enable customers to see in real-time how individual items of clothing will look on them, as well as judge the fit of that item.

This ensures that the customers will be happy with their purchase and will be less likely to return it.

Crime Scene Investigation:

Another area where 3D rendering is making its presence known is that of crime scene investigation. Using 3D rendering, experts can create a snapshot of the crime scene. This snapshot can then be examined at any time by investigators.

3D rendering provides investigators with a photorealistic image of the crime scene, depicting identical conditions to that of the scene. This allows investigators to carefully examine the scene for anything they may have missed in the initial stages.

Manufacturing:

Using 3D rendering, manufacturers can produce like-like models of products which they can then show to clients. This is incredibly beneficial to the industry. Before 3D rendering, clients did not know how a final product was going to look. They relied on basic sketches and models made by designers.

With 3D rendering, the product in question can even be modified before the manufacturing process begins if it does not meet the client’s requirements.

Conclusion:

3D rendering technology has an application in almost all industries. It’s virtually inconceivable to think of a time where 3D rendering wasn’t such a major part of our lives. With the evolution of technology, it’s only going to get better.
